Looking for a track for your new album, want to release a single or remix or are you just looking for samples? We have licensing rights to most music owned by our artists and act on their behalf. The tracks themselves are available in the Archive section. To safeguard our artists, only established acts, managers and labels are allowed in that area, which contains MP3 samples, the actual tracks in high quality, source files (ex. Reason, ProTools) and lead sheets / scores.
Licensing inquiry
You will receive a copy of the material in any of these formats:
- Hi-quality MP3, 320 kbps, untagged (free of soundmarks)
The song file is delivered direct from web or email. Leasing rights allow you to use the material for ONE commercial recording or broadcast. This recording can then be distributed at your price for up to 2,000 copies. Selling more than 2,000 copies means you must acquire a new lease or exclusive rights. You may also use the material for non-profit promotional use or demos. You have full rights to record, alter, mix the material in any shape, way, or form (except reselling the material). You will receive a contract in the mail granting you non-exclusive rights to the material.
In the event that someone buys exclusive rights to the material you have leased, your rights shall stand and the material is still yours to use. You may also acquire new leasing rights if you sell more than 2,000 copies since your contract predates exclusive sale. The seller will not receive a royalty from the sale of records or downloads outside the scope of the Icelandic Performance Rights Society (STEF) and similar organizations. You must give full credit to the seller (artist and/or producer) on all commercial recordings. Upon purchasing leasing rights, the seller still owns the material and can resell it to any other party until exclusive rights have been purchased.

You have full rights to record, alter, mix the material in any shape, way, or form (except reselling the material). You will receive a contract in the mail granting you exclusive rights to the material.
You own the recording as a "work made for hire". The original seller may no longer lease or sell the material, except for prior leasing rights holders and their own promotional pages. The seller will not receive a royalty from the sale of records or downloads including fees collected by the Icelandic Performance Rights Society (STEF) and similar organizations. You must, however, give full credit to the seller (artist and/or producer) on all commercial recordings.
TV, Movies, Commercials, Websites:
- Charity organizations: Permission to use song for free against full credit.
- Student projects: Permission to use song for free against full credit.
- Commercials & in-house company publications: For publications with less than 50,000 viewers exclusive rights are sufficient. Larger publications are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
- Websites (less than 100,000 monthly hits): Leasing rights are sufficient.
- Websites (other): Requires exclusive rights.
- TV/Movie: Negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
